36-Year-Old Stabs Victim During Fight At Long Island Home, Police Say

A 36-year-old man is behind bars after allegedly stabbing another person during a fight at a Long Island home.

The incident happened at around 1 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at a residence in Westhampton, according to Southampton Police.

Detectives said Ricky Harris, of Westhampton, turned himself into police after allegedly stabbing the victim, who is known to him, during a physical altercation.

Doctors called police when the victim showed up to Peconic Bay Medical Center suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound.

No other details about the victim were released and police did not speculate on what led up to the attack.

Harris was arrested on suspicion of felony assault and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon. 

He was expected to be arraigned in Suffolk County Court later Friday.
